Seasons Are Changing: Is My Default Thinking Stuck in Winter?

October 2, 2025 by Cassandra Toppi

Ah, the seasons. The great big huge mood ring of the place we live called Earth! As the leaves change colors and the air turns crisp, I find myself pondering an important question: if nature can change, maybe I can too? Then again, is my default thinking stuck in the winter of my discontent? Hmmmm..

Let’s explore this with a light heart and a dash of humor the Cassandra way! After all it is my birthday today, October 1 that is, and I’ve decided to write this awesome blog post (: Let’s begin.

Spring: The Season of Optimism and Allergies

Spring is that magical time when flowers bloom, birds sing, and my allergies remind me that nature is powerful. It’s a season of renewal and growth. Is my mindset blossoming along with the tulips, or am I still hibernating under a blanket of doubt?

Default Thought Check: Am I open to new opportunities, or am I sneezing away my chances? Maybe it’s time to let go of old beliefs like I let go of tissues during the pollen season.

Summer: The Season of Sun and Fun (and Sunburns)

Ah, summer. The season of endless sunshine, beach days, and the occasional sunburn. It’s a time for adventure and embracing the warmth. Is my thinking as bright as the summer sun, or am I still stuck in the shadows of negativity?

Default Thought Check: Am I soaking up positivity, or am I getting burned by my own pessimism? Perhaps it’s time to apply some SPF (Sunshine Positivity Factor) to my mindset. Side note; I think I made that up lol SPF!

Autumn: The Season of Change and Pumpkin Spice

Autumn arrives with its pumpkin-spiced everything and a reminder that change is beautiful. The leaves don’t cling to the branches; they let go gracefully. Am I clinging to outdated thoughts like a squirrel hoarding nuts for winter for winter?

Default Thought Check: Am I embracing change, or am I stuck in the same old patterns? Maybe it’s time to rake up those rusty beliefs and jump into a pile of fresh ideas.

Winter: The Season of Reflection and Snowball Fights

Winter is a time for cozy fires, hot cocoa, and the occasional snowball fight. It’s also a season of reflection. Am I reflecting on growth, or am I just building a fortress of negative thoughts like an igloo?

Default Thought Check: Am I warming up to new perspectives, or am I freezing out possibilities? Perhaps it’s time to melt away the ice of doubt and let my ideas flow like a hot chocolate river.

I hope this blog post made you smile! As the seasons change, it’s a gentle reminder that we, too, can evolve. Our default thinking doesn’t have to be stuck in one season forever. So, let’s embrace the seasonal shifts with a smile, a laugh, and maybe a pumpkin spice latte (if you’d like). After all, if nature can change with grace and humor, why can’t we?

And who knows, maybe by the time winter rolls around, my default thinking will be as cozy as a pair of fuzzy socks. Cheers to seasonal growth and a mindset that blooms all year round!

“I pray this winter be gentle and kind – a season of rest from the wheel of the mind.”
– John J. Geddes
